At MUMS, our Specialist ENT Consultants provide consultations, investigations, procedures, and treatment for a wide range of ear, nose, and throat problems.
You do not need a referral from your NHS GP to see an ENT Consultant at MUMS.

Problems affecting the ears, nose and throat can have a significant impact on everyday life.
Symptoms such as hearing loss, tinnitus, recurrent infections, persistent nasal blockage, dizziness, snoring, swallowing difficulties, or changes in the voice may require specialist assessment to establish the cause.
An ENT consultation allows your consultant to take a detailed history, examine the relevant area and decide whether further investigations, tests or procedures are required.
Some ENT symptoms are relatively straightforward to diagnose and treat, while others may require further investigation. Having timely access to a specialist can provide an earlier diagnosis, appropriate treatment, and reassurance.

Nasal cautery is a procedure commonly used to treat recurrent nosebleeds. Your ENT Consultant will first assess the cause of the bleeding and, where appropriate, cauterise the affected blood vessel to help reduce further episodes.
MUMS ENT Consultants perform nasal endoscopy using a thin, flexible endoscope with a small camera and light. This allows the Consultant to examine areas inside the nose and nasal passages that cannot easily be seen during a standard examination.
It can help investigate symptoms such as persistent nasal blockage, sinus problems, nasal discharge, nosebleeds and some throat or voice symptoms.
Following a broken nose, the nasal bones can sometimes heal out of position.
Where clinically appropriate, our ENT Consultants can perform nasal bone manipulation to reposition the nasal bones and improve their alignment while the injury is still healing.
