Private Acupuncture at MUMS involves Zahra having a consultation with you, advising you of the benefits of acupuncture and how this service can help you – followed by the insertion of very fine needles into your acupuncture points which are located along the meridians of your body.

What does it do?

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, when the meridians are blocked, Qi (pronounced Chee) does not flow freely through the meridians and so illness occurs. Acupuncture removes the blockages allowing for Qi to flow freely through the meridians, restoring your health.

Studies have shown that acupuncture is effective for a variety of conditions such as gynaecological, mental health, digestive, musculoskeletal, and neurological conditions. Acupuncture encourages your body to release endorphins which is a natural substance with pain killing properties and so pain and discomfort is relieved.

Acupuncture is just one of MUMS complementary therapies – in addition to massage and hypnotherapy. Acupuncture can be accessed on its own or in combination with any of MUMS medical services.
