Private pain relief injections for Knees, Shoulders and Elbow joints are offered at a convenient time for the patients. This is a one stop outpatient clinic where you can have both a consultation and pain relief injection for your joint pain if it is clinically indicated.

These joint injections help with pain or stiffness in the joint and usually take effect within a few days improving quality of life and allowing you to pursue more of your usual activities.

Pain killing injections can be a reliable non-surgical treatment for knees, shoulders, and elbows caused by arthritis. This service can be offered to Men or Women aged 50 years or over with a known diagnosis of osteoarthritis (“wear and tear” changes) of knees, shoulders, or elbows.

Pain relief injections are NOT suitable for patients with rheumatoid/inflammatory arthritis, joint replacements, history of septic arthritis, joint surgery/metalwork in joint, bleeding disorders, acute fracture, skin breakdown around the joint, known allergy or hypersensitivity to lidocaine/steroids, steroid injection within last 3 months

The pain relief injection contains a local anaesthetic. You will provide consent for the injection.

Some analgesia (e.g. paracetamol or co-codamol) may be necessary for 2-3 days following the injection.
