Miss Hema Patel

Hema Patel is an experienced integrative therapist in the fields of Adult and Children's counselling and psychotherapy - offering clients aged 7 years and over a safe space to come and discuss a range of short and long-term issues such as anxiety, depression, bereavement, low self-esteem, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Integrative therapists aim to provide an environment where the client's individual needs are put at the forefront of their therapeutic journey. As a therapist Hema will consider your individual circumstances tailoring a therapeutic approach personalised to your care needs at a pace suitable for you.

Integrative therapists are experienced in tackling behavioural, emotional, social, and psychological difficulties by using different treatment methodologies, providing a safe space for the individuals to work on deep rooted feelings that have impacted or hindered them from achieving their potential. By using various strategies, psychoeducation and practical skills, therapy aims to replace negative patterns of behaviour for positive ones.

Hema is an expert with great demonstrable outcomes with patients she has seen and treated. She has worked for different organisations and charities across Solihull and Birmingham, including volunteering therapy for Solihull Bereavement Counselling Service at Solihull Hospital.

Hema uses a variety of therapy techniques to help people overcome whatever barriers are preventing them from leading a healthy life – she is experienced and very compassionate. As part of her work with children - Hema may invite parents and guardians into sessions to help best understand the difficulties the child is facing and put a more manageable plan in place. Children who are struggling mentally, can cause their parents to feel lost - but by having an experienced trained children’s counselling session - can help family relationships return to a normal state.

We know that talking therapies are very effective. Having someone independent to talk to has successful outcomes for some very complicated emotions. Therapy can be life changing. Learning to deal with the difficulties experienced, providing coping skills and psychoeducation has been shown to be very effective.

Hema offers private counselling and psychotherapy for many conditions - including:

Mrs Natalie Scarborough

Natalie Scarborough is a qualified integrative counsellor working with children aged 5 years and over offering a safe and secure environment to listen and provide your child with emotional support for a range of issues such as anxiety, bereavement, depression, low self-esteem, self-harm, and trauma.

Natalie offers a person-centered approach, putting your child at the centre of the sessions, listening non-judgmentally to your child’s challenges and exploring together how to move forward. Many children struggle to communicate how they are feeling verbally so various creative ways of working, such as talking, playing, or creating, will support the exploration and communication of their emotions whilst developing tools and coping strategies to help in their future. Each session will be tailored to your child’s individual needs.

In the initial session, Natalie will talk to the parent/guardian and the child for the first half and then continue to work with the child independently for the remaining time.

Natalie has over a decade’s worth of experience supporting children, working with local organisations counselling children in schools as well as for a charity supporting children who have been sexually abused within Solihull and Birmingham.

Natalie believes that every child has the right to reach their potential, that every child deserves the opportunity to overcome their challenges and to feel positive and confident about themselves.

Natalie offers private counselling and psychotherapy for many conditions - including:

  • Anxiety
