Lara Taylor is a Midwife with over 12 years’ experience working in the NHS, Private healthcare and as an Independent Midwife. She has experience in all areas of her profession and has supported and empowered many women and families during their pregnancy, birth and in the postnatal period.
Lara has specialist knowledge in Fertility, Enhanced Postnatal care, C-Section Advanced Recovery and Newborn transition, cognitive and emotional development as well as Supporting Families in Pregnancy after loss. She is also a Midwife Trainer, qualified Parent Education facilitator and Breastfeeding Support Midwife. Lara shares her expertise writing articles for well-known Maternity and parenting brands and is currently working in collaboration with international brand Lil-Lets UK, providing education-based information for their Maternity blog. One of her greatest achievements in her NHS career has been introducing the Baby Box scheme to parents across Solihull and Birmingham and developing an online education programme to run alongside.

Working at MUMS enables Lara to use her extensive knowledge and experience to provide individualised support, advice, and education during pregnancy and in the postnatal period in a safe unhurried environment. She is passionate that all women should feel empowered to make informed choices about their pregnancy and birth and feel confident as they transition to parenthood.
Lara graduated from Birmingham City University in 2012 with a first-class honour’s degree in Midwifery and worked in every area of Maternity care within the NHS. She has facilitated Midwife led birth at Heartlands and Solihull Hospitals and has provided Postnatal care and support to Mums and their new babies in the hours and days immediately after birth. She worked as a Community Midwife for University Hospitals Birmingham, before promotion to Specialist Midwife for Teenage pregnancy, working within the Maternity Safeguarding team. She also has experience working as a Bereavement Midwife, supporting families suffering loss whilst being part of an award-winning team.
Lara has worked as an independent midwife since 2022 providing postnatal care to families nationally. She creates blogs and resources for well-known maternity brands and provides consultation and education services to private health services and media outlets.
