Full Blood Count Test  £90

Full Blood Count Testing

A full blood count (FBC)—also called a complete blood count (CBC)—is a common blood test that gives a broad picture of your overall health. It measures different types of cells in your blood and helps doctors spot a wide range of conditions.

Main reasons to have a full blood count

1. Check general health

  • Often part of a routine check-up
  • Helps detect problems before symptoms appear

2. Investigate symptoms
Doctors may order an FBC if you have:

  • Tiredness or weakness
  • Recurrent infections
  • Fever or inflammation
  • Unexplained bruising or bleeding
  • Shortness of breath or dizziness

3. Diagnose or monitor conditions
An FBC can help identify:

  • Anaemia (low red blood cells or haemoglobin)
  • Infections (changes in white blood cells)
  • Inflammation or immune disorders
  • Blood disorders such as leukaemia
  • Bone marrow problems

4. Monitor ongoing treatment

  • Checks the effects of medications (e.g. chemotherapy, immunosuppressants)
  • Monitors chronic conditions over time
  • Assesses recovery after illness or surgery

What the test looks at

  • Red blood cells & haemoglobin – oxygen transport
  • White blood cells – infection and immune response
  • Platelets – blood clotting

FBC costs £90

A Full Blood Count Test combined with GP Consultation £210

A Full Blood Count Test in a simple phlebotomy appointment £125

We recommend a GP Consultation to ensure that this is the most appropriate test for you.

If you opt for a consultation in which to have the test then you will be followed up with a telephone consultation to have the results explained to you.

The turnaround time for the results getting back to MUMS is 24 hours.

If you opt for a phlebotomy appointment in which to have the test – then we will email the results to you but you will need to book a remote/face to face consultation to have the results of the test explained to you.

We offer FBC as part of combination testing which offers value for money and a wider picture of your current health.

We also offer FBC as part of our Health screens.

Call 0121 704 2669 for more information. We have ample parking and great reviews.
