Full blood count testing is commonly requested as part of a general blood test screen in a patient who is unwell

Full Blood Count (FBC) checks the type, number and appearance of varous blood cells, including red blood cells (important for carrying oxygen around the body), white blood cells (vital to the body's immune system), and clotting cells (critical to regulating and stopping bleeding).

This test can help diagnose anaemia (which is due to low levels of haemaglobin or a low red blood cell count) and assess general immune function.

We offer FBC as part of combination testing which offers value for money and a wider picture of your current health.

We also offer FBC as part of our Health screens.

If you are having symptoms associated with anaemia, such as fatigue or weakness, or have an infection, inflammation, bruising, or bleeding, then a FBC test can help diagnose the cause.
