Beta HCG Test £50
Beta HCG Test within an HCA appointment £75
Beta HCG Test within an GP consultation £145
This test measures the amount of HCG in the blood. This is a hormone secreted when a fertilised egg becomes implanted in the uterine wall. This test is very sensitive and can detect even very low levels of HCG, possibly giving a positive result earlier than an over-the-counter urine test.
An hCG level of less than 5 mIU/mL is considered negative for pregnancy, and anything above 25 mIU/mL is considered positive for pregnancy. An hCG level between 6 and 24 mIU/mL is considered a grey area, and you'll likely need to be retested to see if your levels rise to confirm a pregnancy.
This test is for women who would like an early test to check if they are pregnant. A negative result does not necessarily mean that you are not pregnant as HCG may not be detectable even with this sensitive test, especially if you tested early or ovulated late. A repeat test is recommended if your period has not arrived after another 3 days.
You can have this test with our HCAs in a £25.00 Phlebotomy Appointment.
Results are available within 24 hours.
We send the test to our partner laboratory in London.
This test is important if there is a risk of ectopic pregnancy.
We often suggest this test where the early pregnancy scan does not detect a pregnancy because it is too early to scan.
