Gluten Intolerance testing at MUMS

Gluten is contained in lots of common foods – especially carbohydrates such as pasta, bread, cakes. It is fairly common for people to have gluten intolerance. This is very different from coeliac disease. Gluten intolerance causes symptoms of bloating, diarrhoea and abdominal pain.

The Consultation with our experienced GPs is £100.00. The GP will perform the allergy blood test and explain the results to you.

You may choose to have a simple £30.00 Phlebotomy appointment in which to be tested with this Gluten Intolerance Test. However – if the results are showing abnormalities then you will need a  GP consultation to have the results explained to you.

For children under 16 years old you will need to book in with our specialist consultant paediatrician for a consultation and allergy testing. The cost of a consultation with the paediatrician is £235.00 plus the cost of the test.

At MUMS we offer the Gluten Intolerance Test which costs £400.00.

The Gluten Intolerance Test Results are back within 10 days.

Our Private GPs will explain the results to you. We strongly recommend you have this test within an £100.00 GP Consultation to ensure this is the most appropriate test for you. MUMS Private GPs may wish to perform Coeliac Tests as opposed to the Gluten Intolerance Test.

Gluten intolerance is NOT an autoimmune disease like Coeliac Disease.

Gluten Intolerance is NOT life threatening.

You can have the Gluten Intolerance Test at MUMS with our Private GPs and discuss eliminating Gluten from your diet and/or having the coeliac disease blood test.

It is of utmost importance for you to understand whether you have a Gluten Allergy/intolerance or Coeliac disease.
