1 in 1000 cysts are malignant in the premenopausal women and 3 in 1000 are malignant in the post-menopausal age group. Therefore, the vast majority of ovarian cysts are benign and need monitoring. Miss Pradhan will scan your ovaries and arrange tests to distinguish the benign from the worrying cysts. There are specific features of cancerous cysts and often an ultrasound scan will pick this up.
A scan and consultation with Miss Pradhan or Miss Woodhead, MUMS Gynaecologists costs £400.00 and includes a report to your NHS GP or Consultant.
