Paediatric Urinary Tract/Renal/Kidney Ultrasound Scan at MUMS Solihull

This is a more targeted scan looking at the kidneys and bladder to assess the urinary tract. It can be useful in recurrent urinary tract infections, wetting problems, to look for congenital problems with the kidneys or bladder and look for signs of vesicoureteral reflux. It is possible to pick up signs of infection or obstruction of the kidneys and rarely, we can pick up cysts or cancer. We will assess the size, shape, and location of both kidneys.

MUMS offers paediatric ultrasound scans with Dr Emily Evans and Dr Moti Chowdhury, Consultant Paediatric Radiologists. We offer detailed and comprehensive ultrasound scans and reports for new-borns and children and young adults up to 18 years at our state of the art – clinic in Solihull. There are no waiting times for an ultrasound scan with our paediatric radiologist.

We will provide you with an immediate verbal and written report. You can take the report and images to your usual clinician or have a consultation with Dr Moti Chowdhury at the time of your scan.

You can call us on 0121 704 2669 or email us at administrator@mums.me.uk or send us an enquiry.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Ultrasound imaging (sonography) is a non-invasive technique used to take pictures of your internal organs to help diagnose the symptoms you have been experiencing. Ultrasound is a safe way to obtain images of your internal organs. Unlike ultrasounds often provided by the NHS, private ultrasounds offer rapid access to images and same-day results.
  • Private ultrasounds have seen a surge in demand in recent years due to excessive NHS waiting times. Although the NHS continues to provide a vital lifesaving service, many benefits come together with our private ultrasounds. For example, when you book a private ultrasound with MUMS, you will find that you will not have to wait more than a day or two. Instead, you will be able to arrange an ultrasound within a relatively short period – often on the very same day. In addition, our private ultrasounds are conducted by medical professionals such as consultants. This means that irrespective of the ultrasound you require, you will receive a quick diagnosis. Not only does this alleviate any worries that often arise in the hours and days following an ultrasound, but it guarantees that you can take appropriate actions, such as securing treatment, almost immediately.
  • Here at MUMS, our private ultrasounds are available for individuals to take advantage of. Whether you have recently come to experience worrying symptoms and do not want to wait for an NHS appointment to become available, would prefer to pay for a same-day healthcare service, we welcome you to book a private ultrasound with us today.
  • The costs of our private ultrasounds greatly vary and often depend on the ultrasound that is required. Our prices are listed.
