Private Paediatric Ultrasound Scans - MSK – Musculoskeletal

MUMS Consultant Paediatric Radiologist – Dr Moti Chowdhury offers scan only or scan and consultation for newborns, infants, children, and young adults up to 18 years at our state-of-the-art clinic in Solihull.

MSK Areas for ultrasound scanning include:

• Elbow
• Wrist/Hand
• Hip
• Knee
• Foot
• Ankle
• Thigh or Calf
• Lower Spine (under 6months of age) 

All the relevant muscles/tendons and nerves in between, linking all these body parts (e.g. thigh muscles / hamstrings / forearm muscles and calf muscles etc) are scanned. 

An MSK scan will assess the major and some minor tendons, ligaments, and nerves around the various aspects of the body parts, whether it be related to pain and/or reduced movement from sports injuries, old age or general health conditions such as rheumatology and arthritis.

MSK Scans are safe, non-invasive, and reliable. The procedure takes around 15-30 minutes.

There is no need for a referral – you can self-refer for peace of mind. 

Gel is used to glide the transducer and pictures and measurements of the MSK area are taken by the Radiologist.

We will provide you with an immediate verbal and written report. You are able to take the report and images to your usual clinician or access any of our Consultants and GPs to have the report explained to you in detail or choose a scan and consultation with Dr Moti Chowdhury.
