Private FSH Test (Follicle Stimulating Hormone)

Follicle stimulating hormone is produced by the pituitary gland. It regulates the functions of both the ovaries and testes. Lack or insufficiency of it can cause infertility or subfertility both in men and women.

In women, FSH stimulates the ovaries to produce eggs. The test is used to help diagnose or evaluate menopause, PCOS and ovarian insufficiency.

FSH levels are performed as part of fertility investigations in both men and women. High levels indicate ovarian dysfunction/failure.

FSH is often measured on Day 2-3 of a woman’s cycle to assess ovarian function.

A High FSH result can indicate ovarian failure, menopause or male testicular problems.

The cost is £75.00 for the test. If you wish to have this test with one of our phlebotomists the cost for the phlebotomy only is £30.00
