Spirometry with reversibility testing

We also offer spirometry with reversibility testing – this is performed by Mr Chirag Dave, MUMS Respiratory Consultant and Dr Nimah Bholah – Private GP. Mr Dave/Dr Nimah will consult with you, ask you to inhale with medication in the form of a bronchodilator. This is often referred to as bronchodilator responsiveness testing as well as reversibility testing. When Mr Dave/Dr Nimah uses medication, it yields a bigger change in the scoring for asthma as opposed to COPD. The spirometry is performed before and after the inhaled medication for an accurate diagnosis and to see if your lung function improves when you inhale medication. The risks of this test will be explained to you by MUMS Respiratory Consultant or Dr Nimah and so you will be asked questions about your medical history, blood pressure, previous surgery etc.

The total cost for spirometry reversibility testing and consultation with Mr Chirag Dave is £400.00.

The total cost for spirometry reversibility testing and consultation with Dr Nimah Bholah is £300.00

Spirometry testing helps diagnose lung conditions. The spirometer measures the air that you can breathe out to diagnose asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease ( COPD ) and other breathing problems.

If you have symptoms of breathlessness, cough, recurrent infections, sleepiness, or poor sleep at night, you ought to have a spirometry test.
