Endometrial Biopsy

An endometrial biopsy is a procedure where a small sample of the lining of the uterus (the endometrium) is taken and sent to the lab for testing.

Why it’s done:

• Abnormal uterine bleeding (heavy, irregular, or postmenopausal bleeding)
• Thickened endometrium on ultrasound
• Suspected endometrial hyperplasia
• To rule out endometrial cancer
• Monitoring response to hormone treatment
