Testing for risk of hereditary cancers. 5-10% of cancers diagnosed in the UK are linked to an inherited gene fault.

MUMS Private GPs offer hereditary cancer testing for the following hereditary cancers:

A GP Consultation which costs £100 is required for medical history, family history and testing of this multi-cancer panel which analyses 72 genes associated with the increased risk of one or more of the above 11 hereditary cancers.

The cost of this test is £650 which includes consultation, testing and interpretation of results.

This test is a cost-effective way to identify inherited diseases. The identification of a genetic variant also helps at-risk relatives to manage their risk by being tested. The results are accurate for better patient outcomes. We offer counselling and support for patients to make an informed decision prior to taking the test and understanding their personalised results post testing.

Results are back within 3 weeks, and you will have access to a clinician at the laboratory for support – regardless of the test results. We also offer a free of charge remote GP Consultation to discuss the results.

The sample is saliva. You will be asked to complete a form which includes:

• Your medical history
• Your family medical history
• Consent
• Whether you wish to have clinician support from the laboratory regarding the results
