What Is Allergy Testing?

Allergy testing is the process in which tests are conducted to measure the number of antibodies in the blood that the immune system has produced in response to an allergen. To determine whether you have an allergy, you will be required to have a blood test.  Your blood sample will then be sent to our lab to be analysed to determine whether any allergens are present. Upon receiving the blood tests, one of our private GPs will contact you to discuss the results and provide you with information to ensure that you know how your allergy may impact your life. Private allergy testing is popular in private clinics because allergy testing is not available in NHS GP Practices.

How Much Do Allergy Tests Cost?

The cost of our private allergy testing depends on the number of allergies that you wish to be tested for. For example, the price of a single allergen test costs £60.  These allergy tests will determine whether you have an allergy to a specific substance. However, you may wish to take advantage of our UK profile allergy test which will show your allergen or intolerance of foods such as cod, cow's milk, egg white, peanut, soya bean and wheat. Also included in this test is cocksfoot, meadow fescue, meadow rye, timothy, cat dander, latex, and house dust mite.

This test costs £220.

For children under 16 years old, you will need to book in with our specialist consultant paediatrician for a consultation and allergy testing. The cost of a consultation with the paediatrician is £235.00 plus the cost of the test.

You can also test for isolated allergens which costs £65.00 each.
