Experience: I qualified as a midwife in 1989 and have extensive experience in all areas of midwifery. I have a special interest in ante-natal care and following my role as Antenatal Clinic Manager, I became the Antenatal Screening Midwife for Solihull Hospital, working within the Fetal Medicine Team. During this time I undertook my obstetric ultrasound qualification.
How I fit into MUMS: I joined MUMS in January 2004 and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience, together with a love of my job.
Marguerite Usher-Somers

Post Experience Certificate in Counselling, University of Birmingham 1994
Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound, University of Central England, 1998.
Work experience: Worked as a radiographer at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham 1981-1982 and at the General Hospital, Birmingham 1982 – 1983.
Ultrasound career began at Birmingham Maternity Hospital in 1983. Since then I
have worked mainly in obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound mainly at Birmingham Women’s Hospital but also at Marston Green Hospital, Sorrento Maternity Hospital, City Hospital and Heartlands Hospital.
Began working at MUMS in May 2005.
Special interest in fetal echocardiography and fetal medicine ultrasonography. I also have extensive experience in early pregnancy work and gynaecology ultrasound. I have taught a variety of professional people how to scan and have given talks in both ultrasound and, in the past, counselling skills.
What do I give to MUMS? I am able to offer a range of ultrasound skills appropriate for the practice.

Vicki Campbell RM RGN

Vicky qualified as a registered nurse in 1985 specialising in gynaecology, prior to qualifying as a midwife in 1989.
As a midwife of seventeen years, I have a wide range of knowledge and experience in all aspects of midwifery, including antenatal screening, parent education, home confinements and postnatal care.
Vicky joined MUMS in 2004 working as a part of the midwifery team combining her NHS work as a Community Midwife within the Solihull area.
Debbie Foster RM RGN

Debra joined MUMS in May 2004 as part of the midwifery team offering a broad range of services including antenatal screening and midwifery care. In particular Debra has a keen interest in parent education, postnatal care and breastfeeding.
Debra qualified as a midwife in 1983 and has extensive experience in all levels of midwifery practice including antenatal screening, delivery suite and spent 10 years as a community midwife and team leader.
Debra combines her work with MUMS alongside her NHS role as West Midlands Regional Education and Training Facilitator for the NSC antenatal screening programmes. In her spare time you’ll find Debra on the dance floor practising both Ceroc and Ballroom dancing!
Brenda Bagnall

Brenda Bagnall has been with MUMS since May 2004 and works as part of the midwifery team, offering a wide range of services including antenatal screening and midwifery care.
Brenda qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1984 and then as a midwife in 1991. She has had a variety of experience in all areas of midwifery. Brenda’s work at MUMS, runs alongside her role as a midwife at Solihull Hospital’s Antenatal Clinic.
Her role at MUMS allows her to offer individual support and care to all patients. She is currently involved in extending her role towards offering Parent Education Services.
