Private Antenatal and Delivery Care

Private Pregnancy Care About the team Mike Wyldes and Chris Griffin are two specialists working both within the NHS and private medical sphere. MUMS have its own midwives who help us with the antenatal care. During the delivery process we use the NHS facilities at Solihull or Heartlands NHS hospitals with the support of the hospitals midwifery staff. Our presence during labour is complimentary with the NHS midwives at the hospital so you always have someone directly at hand. We do like to deliver the baby ourselves which makes the service something very special for Mike and Chris. What are the advantages of our service? The vast majority of the time the NHS provides good care during pregnancy and delivery. However, sometimes the care cannot fully facilitate or meet your requirements. These requirements may be to have a consultant you know and trust delivering your baby or facilitating your chosen form of delivery. We can look after all your antenatal care including 4D scanning and any invasive procedures e.g. amniocentesis required early in pregnancy. You have 24-hour access, 7 days a week to either Mike or Chris to discuss concerns or worries no matter how small they may appear. Your appointments can be tailored to match your schedule as much as possible. What is the cost? The cost for the whole package including delivery is under fees. The complete package includes unlimited visits to our practice. The price does not change if you have a vaginal birth or a Caesarean Section. However, you may wish to reduce the cost by paying per visit if you donot require so many visits. Sadly, most health insurance policies do not cover the costs for ourselves or the hospital. Included in the package is a free baby massage session and 2 free reflexology sessions – please see our website for more details of this service. Both these services are held at the MUMS practice Hospital charges are extra and payable directly to the Heart of England NHS. What is the accommodation at the hospital? The vast majority of the time you have your own private room to stay in. Some of the rooms have their own private bathroom facilities. However, if there is a very sick NHS patient requiring the room, their medical condition takes precedence over private patient status for the room. How do I arrange an appointment? You can contact us on any of the numbers in this sheet or email our practice. No referral is necessary from your GP. We can liase with all your NHS providers to inform them of your choice etc
