Flu Vaccinations – 2023 MUMS Solihull

MUMS Private GPs and Nurses offer Flu Vaccination – 6 days a week from 8am to 6pm and on Saturdays.

MUMS Anti-Flu Jab is for Men, Women and Children – aged over 2 years.

The cost is £25.00.

The Vaccine is administered within a 10 min consultation.

The flu vaccine is a safe and effective vaccine and is egg free.

The best time to have the flu vaccine is in the autumn or early winter before flu starts spreading. However, you can have the FLU vaccination at any time. The vaccine takes about two weeks to become effective.

Flu Vaccination is very important. It is known that people are more likely to get flu and other virus’s now because less people with have developed a natural immunity to FLU due to the Covid 19 pandemic. Additionally – getting FLU and Covid 19 simultaneously would mean that you would be quite poorly – especially if you have compromised immunity. Those who work with young children, the elderly and pregnant women should get protection.

Adults and children from 2yrs receive just one dose. If your child is younger than 9yrs and has never been vaccinated against flu, a 2nd dose should be given after 4weeks.

Before receiving this vaccine, you should inform the doctor if you have an acute illness/fever – as delay of vaccine may be appropriate. Additionally, we will ask you if your immune system is impaired or you are undergoing treatment which affects your immune system. Also let us know if you have a bleeding problem or bruise easily.

By being vaccinated against FLU and Covid 19 – means that you will be better protected and those around you will also be better protected.

If you've had COVID-19, it's safe to have the flu vaccine. It will still be effective at helping to prevent FLU and prevent risk of spreading. By having an annual FLU Jab:

  • You are reducing the risk of getting and spreading Flu.
  • Preventing catching this year’s new strain of Flu Virus
  • Less likely to be poorly if you do get Flu.
  • Protect your family, friends, and colleagues.
