Welcome to our website (MUMS) which is about our company and the private specialist medical services in women's health and pregnancy care we are offering. Mr Chris Griffin and Mr Mike Wyldes two consultant obstetricians run the centre. Chris and Mike are based within the NHS system at Heartlands and Solihull Hospitals which form part of the newly created Heart of England Foundation Trust. The service is supported by fellow professionals in ultrasonography, midwifery, anaesthesia and paediatrics. Ms Jill Agnew, Ms Marguerite Somers, Ms Una Doherty, Lyn Bradley and Ms Sharon Wilkinson are our sonographers. Brenda Bagnall, Debbie Foster, Amanda Harborne and Vicki Campbell are our midwives. Sandra, Carole, Donna and Jo are our core administrative staff and Wendy, Alison and Carol are our receptionists. Carole is our accounts person.
Mr Mike Wyldes and Mr Chris Griffin have been performing nuchal scanning since 1998. In 2001 we formed a partnership to provide a service in the private sector, which was the first in the Midlands. In 2003 we created MUMS and while other centres have since started, they are unable to offer the full range of diagnostic and pregnancy care services which we offer.
All MUMS staff have been trained to rigorous standards laid down by the Fetal Medicine Foundation, and we are audited regularly by the Foundation.
We were also the first practice in the Midlands area offering the cutting edge technology of 3D and 4D ultrasound of babies inside the mother's womb. Patients visit our practice from Wales, Manchester, Bristol and London not only for the excellent imaging facilities but for the warm and welcoming approach that we pride ourselves on.
4D ultrasound is based on the same technology as standard 2D ultrasound and as such poses no health threat to the developing baby. The pictures can be quite breathtaking. We receive patients from all over the UK and abroad due to the close proximity of Birmingham International airport for the 4D scan as well as for other medical matters.
Our practice is also the only private partnership between professionals offering complete pregnancy or obstetric care as again all investigations or treatment during pregnancy can be carried out by Mike and Chris in conjunction with our midwifery staff.
Private obstetric care can be tailored to meet the individual requirements of each patient. This for some may entail a private consultation and 20 weeks fetal anomaly scan through to every facet of pregnancy being performed privately.
We are the only group of practitioners offering this private service in the Birmingham, Worcester, Coventry Warwick, Redditch, Staffordshire, Wolverhampton, Solihull, Banbury, Oxford, Leamington Spa and indeed the entire Midlands area.
